A 27 year old man of Barrack Street, Kingston was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit at GPHC this morning with a stab wound to his chest following a domestic dispute. He was treated and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
One person has been arrested and assisting the police with their investigations.

Government is on a drive to have more young people involved in agriculture and food production, Agriculture Minister Vasant Bharath has said. Bharath says Government intends to revamp all incentives to ensure this happens. Bharath made the statement during the graduation ceremony of 31 young persons in the youth apprenticeship programme in agriculture.

The police ranks charged with burning the genitals of a teenager during October last year, may walk free, without the testimony of the victim. The youngster Twyon Thomas failed to turn up in court even after a wanted bulletin was issued for him.  Attorney at law Kkemraj Ramjattan, representing the lad told TrakkerNews today that the testimony  by the victim and two other eyewitnesses is essential to convict the officers since an injustice will be done to the state,(herein referred to as the people) should the officers go free.

Word spread late this afternoon around the city that Minister of Health Dr. Leslie Ramsammy had suffered a heart attack and admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. 
The public relations officer within the institution Ms.Proctor confirmed with TrakkerNews that the Minister visited the hospital for a routine medical checkup and was sent home.
It was public that the Minister had suffered a heart attack about two years ago and had sought medical treatment in the United States of America.

 

More than 50 vendors that operate on the road shoulders at La Penitence Market will be driven off by the Ministry of Local Government.
Local Government Minister Kellawan Lall said because of the heavy traffic the vendors will have to move for their own safety, but the vendors said they have been selling their for decades and no notices were given to them. They said if the road is too busy then speed humps should be constructed.
