Hit and run driver kills Sophia man, speeding driver kills Corentyne woman
The police are looking for the driver of a green Toyota Carina AT 212 which hit down Edward Jeffers of Plum Park, Sophia at around 3pm today. Jeffers was struck down on Sheriff Street in the vicinity of the Campbellville Secondary School . The pedestrian was attempting to cross the road from east to west when he was it by the car.
Jeffers died before receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
Meanwhile the Police are investigating a fatal accident at No.74 village Public Road where

A speeding car PFF8498 travelling east along the East Coast Railway embankment slammed into a route 44 Mini Bus BGG 6247 at the junction at Conversation Tree. After the collision the bus toppled, injuring the driver and five passengers.
22 year old Ribecia Bisnauth, of Cummings Lodge, ECD is presently hospitalized with serious injuries to her lower back while the driver and four others sustained minor injuries and were treated and discharged. The car driver is assisting the police with the investigations.
East Coast Man Recovering from Gun Shot Wounds
Ramalo Stephen is resting at the Georgetown Public Hospital after doctors earlier today removed two bullets from his legs.
Steven and his wife Carmen were attacked at their 116 fourth street, Martysville, Mon Repos home by three armed men around 11pm yesterday. The gunmen tied up Carmen and abused her husband before shooting him and escape with an undisclosed sum of money and jewellery.
Ramalo and his wife operates a small business at Mon Repos Market.
No one has been apprehended for the robbery.
