Relay team drops baton
After appealing a disqualification ruling to make it to the finals T&T’s relay team failed to finish after dropping the baton. The baton was dropped early in the race bringing the country’s hopes for a medal to a halt. T his country’s men’s sprint relay team had been given the green light to compete in today’s Commonwealth Games men’s 4×100 metres relay final. On Monday, the T&T combination of Shaun Stuart, Marcus Duncan, Emmanuel Callender and Aaron Armstrong qualified for the final but then disqualified.
Suspect charged for Mark Caesar’s murder
Today Dexter Marshal was charged for the murder of Mark Caesar known as Lil Mark. Caesar was gunned down at Broad and Adelaide Streets, Charlestown. on October 01, 2010. He is the brother of Steve Jupiter who was shot in drive by shooting September 4, 2010 in Cummings Lodge.
MP distances himself from pro-smelter demonstrators
Fitzgerald Jeffrey, the Member of Parliament for La Brea, is today distancing himself from protest action by pro-smelter demonstrators. Aluminium smelter supporters yesterday burnt debris and blocked roads, demanding the Government reconsiders its position on the project. The Peoples Partnership Government has dismantled the plan to set up the smelter, promising other industries in the area. Protestors are questioning the government’s real motive behind the scrapping of the smelter.
TT men’s 4×100 M sprint relay team to compete in final
This country’s men’s sprint relay team has been given the green light to compete in today’s Commonwealth Games men’s 4×100 metres relay final. On Monday, the T&T combination of Shaun Stuart, Marcus Duncan, Emmanuel Callender and Aaron Armstrong qualified for the final but then were disqualified. Team manager Durly Lucas appealed the disqualification decision today and it was overturned.
