Truck Drivers cry out of losing hours of work per day-Pickets Minister Rohee’s Office
This morning truck drivers came together to picket the Ministry of Home Affairs saying with the new order signed by Minister Clement Rohee they are losing five prime hours of work.
The Minister has signed the order in keeping with Section 48.1of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act Chapter 51:02 which stipulates that no motor lorries and slow moving vehicles be allowed to use the city (Georgetown) and East Bank Public Road between Houston and Timehri from Monday to Saturday between 7am to 9am and 4pmto 6pm
75 year old woman still rides to work – Receives Bicycle from Police Force
Commander of Division ‘D’ West Demerara/ East Bank Essequibo, Balram Persaud on behalf of ranks in the Division presented a Mountain Climber bicycle to Elain Jones age 75 years of Lot 23 Inner Bagotsville, West Bank Demerara.
The recipient has been riding for over twenty five years from Bagotsville on the West Bank of Demerara to Regent and Alexander Streets Georgetown where she is having a small business.

Over a hundred thousand expected in the next 6 days as guyexpo 2010 opens
"Guyana continues to be an investor friendly country and is open for business", the words of Minister of Tourism, Trade and Commerce, Manniram Prashad as he encouraged local and foreign investors to take advantage of the many opportunities in Guyana. The Minister was speaking at the opening of Guyana’s and the Caribbean’s premier and biggest trade fair, Guyexpo. Prashad said that the business community in Guyana is willing to take risks and invest.
