HCU wants meeting with govt
Harry Harnarine, the president of the embattled Hindu Credit Union is calling for a meeting with the government.
Harnarine is asking for the government to meet with the HCU stakeholders before a way forward is decided.

“Increase disability grant”
The Consortium of Disability Organisations is calling for the government to see to the needs of the differently abled in tomorrow’s budget.
The consortium is calling for the disability grant to be increased to $3000.
Tomorrow, Finance Minister Winston Dookeran is expected to present the People’s Partnership budget for next fiscal year.
LaToya apologizes for topless photo shoot
Latoya Woods, this country’s representative at the Miss Universe pageant has apologised to citizens who were offended by her topless photo shoot.
However, Woods said if she had to do it all over again she would. Woods made the statement in her first press conference since returning from Las Vegas.
