Georgetown- In the wake of a deadly explosion at Guyana’s busiest and biggest market in the city, and the massive shake up of operations there by the authorities to clear a vast area of illegal structures and activities, vendors continue to suffer the worst. As they become displaced with each passing day, many are now contemplating their next move. They complain of being pushed around by the police who remain very vigilant in the market square. Some were provided temporary locations just behind the market, while others are still trying to settle for business.

Sports Minister Anil Roberts has claimed that the People’s National Movement (PNM) is "training its guns against" him.
Roberts made the statement today in response to claims that Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar was hiding the fact Roberts was involved in a car crash three months ago.
Roberts confirmed that he was involved in a minor crash while driving one of his Ministry’s vehicles.
He said he was driving the vehicle when he was involved in a "small accident".

Georgetown– There are a lot of sides to the story that unfolded last evening with the striking minibus operators, shortly after a meeting with works minister Robeson Benn. The operators claimed that following the talks, some of them resumed operations only to find a number of 32 seater minibuses at the park offering free transport. This was the response of the minister to the strike. The operators are now calling him the iron fist of the Government. Today the strike resumed as many called the move intimidatory.
