East Bank Demerara : Police responding to a report received that James Hutson called James Emannuel of Grove Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was in a shop at Grove, EBD, attempting to rob a customer.
The police later confronted Hutson in a yard at Kaneville Access Road, EBD, and during efforts to arrest him attacked the police with an ice-pick, causing the police to resort to the use of force and he was shot to his right foot. The 40 year old man has been admitted a patient under guard at the Georgetown Hospital.
James Hutson was wanted for questioning by the police in a robbery that occurred yesterday where it reported that he robbed Richard Dazell of Grove Housing Scheme of $15,000.00 at Grove, EBD.
