Murder during curfew hours

Diego Martin: Despite the State of Emergency and curfew the murders continue,  the latest is that of a Diego Martin man killed at 2am, two hours before the curfew ended.

Rresidents tell police that they heard screams coming from an abandoned house at Augustine Terrace in Diego Martin.  Residents later discovered the body of 39-year-old, Jefferey Joseph with several chop wounds on a bed in the abandoned house.

Homicide officers are continuing investigations into the murder.

Meantime in the Southern Division, officers are investigating the murder of a Claxton Bay resident. Police reports indicate that around 8:30 on Sunday night, residents of St John's Terrace heard several loud explosions in the area.

Upon investigating, residents including the victim's brother, found Robert Damien Felix, lying in a pool of blood along the roadway. Residents told police, that Felix was on his way to visit a friend, when they heard a car pull up and gunshots. Officers say Felix was shot three times and died on the spot.

Investigators recovered several spent shells at the scene. While officers have ruled out robbery as a motive for the murder, they are yet to establish a concrete motive for the murder, but say it appears to be a hit.

Meanwhile, four men have been arrested in connection with the murder of retired Deputy Police Commissioner Cecil Carrington.

67-year-old Carrington was shot dead at his beach front hotel in Manzanilla back on January 21st.

He was found shot twice in the lobby of his hotel.
