PM continues recuperation at home

St Clair: Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar spent another day resting at home today following two days spent at the St Clair Medical Centre last week.

Sources at her office say the prime minister took her doctor's advice to rest some more before resuming active duty and did not turn up for work at the Office of the Prime Minister today.

On Sunday Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan had told reporters that while the prime minister is always eager to get back to work it was very likely that she would also work from home from time to time.

The prime minister spent last Wednesday and Thursday nights at the centre where she underwent an executive check-up.

She was admitted on Wednesday after complaining of feeling unwell as she addressed a conference of the American Chamber of Commerce at the Hyatt Hotel.

The prime minister's feet were also swollen after a minor domestic accident in which two cans fell on her feet. While at the centre the prime minister continued to meet with ministers and to oversee the affairs of the state.

There has been no indication as yet on whether the prime minister would resume duties at her office tomorrow.
