Jack Warner begins legal action against journalist over two articles

Port-of-Spain: Former FIFA Vice-President Jack Warner has sent a pre-action protocol letter to freelance journalist Lasana Liburd over allegations contained in two recent articles.

Today lawyers acting on behalf of Warner issued a letter to Liburd claiming irregularities in aid-funding to Haiti after the earthquake and that FIFA had stopped funding the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation.

Warner's lawyers are claiming the articles are defamatory and libellous and have caused damage to Warner.

The pre-action protocol letter sent by KR Lalla and Company is asking for a retraction of the articles and apology as well as damages to Warner and his legals costs.
