Two thirds of the staff of the Probation Department did not report for work yesterday.
According to a source, a sick out was staged to protest unfair and biased appointments,
The source also claimed that seven officers were being demoted, after acting in positions for several years while three other officers were being sent home.
The Barbados Workers' Union is intervening in the matter.
