Local Gov’t Ministry hands over $22M worth of equipment to regional administrations

 

Georgetown : Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development, Nigel Dharamlall handed over approximately $22M worth of tools and equipment that were requested by various administrative regions. 

Additionally, the Ministry will be handing over several All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), for which it is currently going through the final stages of the procurement period as well as a number of garbage trucks to various municipalities.

Dharamlall disclosed that the Ministry is in the process of providing $20M to mobilise resources for the Mayor and City Councillors of Georgetown for restoration of City Hall, which is one of the country’s landmarks.
