G/town Hospital receives ECG machine from US -based foundation

Georgetown : The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) is in receipt of a Electrocardiogram (ECG) machine, from United States-based, Operation Dream Catcher Foundation.

The machine will be used to monitor patients with chest pain and identify cardiac problems was handed over to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital in the presence of its Emergency Response Specialist Dr. Zulfikar Bux and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Michael Khan.

This machine will complement two others that are already at the hospital.

The Operation Dream Catcher foundation is a non-profitable organisation which was established in September 2009 with the aim of donating equipment to hospitals, health centres and other medical facilities in need.

There are also plans for the team to visit Wakenaam, which will see the donation of an oxygen concentrator and the Skeldon and Canje medical facilities later in the year which will as well receive medical equipment.

Dream Catcher will also be lending a hand in the rehabilitation of the Port Mourant Hospital which is scheduled to commence later in the week.
