British High Commissioner and Falkland Islands representatives pay courtesy call on opposition Leader

BHC & Falkland Islands Reps Visit Leader of the OppositionGeorgetown : The Leader of the Opposition, David Granger along with members of A Partnership for National Uniy (APNU)  including Shadow Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Natural Resources and the Environment, Public Infrastructure and the Policy Adviser, Joseph Harman met with the British High Commissioner Andrew Ayre, along with a two person delegation from the Falkland Islands led by Hon. Mike Summers, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Falkland Islands.

 Mr. Summers asserted the “right to self determination” by the Falkland Islanders and gave a brief history of the Falkland Islands, its social and economic development, as well as the results of the recent Falkland Islands Referendum which evidenced more than 90% support for the Islands remaining a British Overseas Territory.

 The Leader of the Opposition provided an explanation of the history of APNU. He also reiterated the principled historical political commitment and support of the Partners within APNU for the “right to self determination” by all peoples of the world.
