Another Minister admits to misuse of Government credit card

Port-of-Spain: Another government minister is admitting misuse of a government issued credit card.

Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan says he used the card to purchase books, exercise equipment and an airline ticket all via the internet.

However he says no government funds were utilised for these purchases and a statement was issued this afternoon apologising for what he calls the inadvertent use of the card.

The Minister says the current controversy surrounding Tobago Affairs Minister Vernella Alleyne Toppin caused him to review the terms and conditions of use.

Dr Khan says he purchased health care management books, exercise equipment and an airline ticket to France on official government business.

He says while  reviewing the terms and conditions of the use of the card he recognised his error and is remorseful and has apologised to the national community.
