Youth told to try agriculture

Bridgetown.

Acting Deputy  Chief Agricultural Officer Charleston Lucas, has urged  Barbadian youths to get involved in the island's agricultural sector to ensure its longevity.

"We need to bring young people into agriculture, we need them to take over, our young people must view agriculture as a business," Lucas said.

"Agriculture serves the purpose of creating employment, people must not only look at the production side to see the importance of agriculture, because there are also backward and forward linkages within the agriculture sector", Lucas added.
