Berbice: Audrey Cummings, 42, of St John Street, New Amsterdam who was before the court on a charge of Possession of Narcotics was sentenced to one year in jail by Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo Thursday in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s court.
She was arrested and taken to the Central Police Station, New Amsterdam. Before a search was carried out on the woman’s body, she pulled out a parcel from her crotch and dropped it on the floor. It was found and she subsequently denied dropping such and that the drug was hers. The item was collected tested and weighed and found to be two grams of cocaine.
