East Coast Demerara : Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Corneille Grimmond, 23, of lot 6 Happy Acres, East Coast Demerara, who was found almost lifeless with multiple injuries consistent with that of a motor vehicular accident, on the Happy Acres Public Road about 11pm yesterday..
Enquiries disclosed from the driver of a motor car that whilst he was proceeding east along the northern side of the road, he observed the victim in the corner of the said side of the road, panting for breath; he stopped and with the assistance of two occupants of his car and that of a Professional Guard Service vehicle, the injured woman was placed into his vehicle and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is presently at the Hospital’s Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Investigators have retrieved several pieces of a broken vehicle mirror at the scene. The victim was found about 70 feet from the debris. Several statements obtained.
