St Augustine: The University of the West Indies has cancelled it’s annual parade of bands at the St Augustine campus and the Student Guild says its not happy with the decision to take away what has been a decade long carnival tradition.
Guild President Amilcar Sanatan says the university’s administration expressed concern over increased criminal activity on the campus during Carnival activities and took a decision to cancel the event until proper security arrangements are made but Sanatan says the Guild has several proposals they'd like to discuss with the university and is calling for consultation amongst student on the matter.
