UWI campus reduce dependency on Government funding

Bridgetown.

The Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) has reduce its dependency on Government funding by more than 35 percent,

Principal of the Cave Hill Campus Sir Hilary Beckles told Trakker News, the Cave Hill Campus has cut its dependency of public revenue for its operations to 65 percent and falling.

"Universities across the Caribbean, including the Cave Hill Campus  have  been faced with hard choices to lay off staff, to cut enrolment but we have resisted all of these challenges because we believe that as a university we must generate revenues for our own development ", Sir Hilary said.
