Hopetown woman found with her throat slit

Berbice: A Hopetown  woman was Sunday found dead with her throat slit. Reports are that about 6:45PM a relative visited the woman’s home and found her lying by the front door with blood oozing from a gaping wound under her neck.

Dead is 34-year old Rhonda Thompson, a hair dresser by profession.

Police sources in Berbice say investigations so far revealed that the two were separated for about three and a half month now after the woman left to visit a relative in Barbados and over-stayed her time.

According to a neighbour Thompson’s ex-husband came to her place and the two had an argument after he accused her of seeing someone else.

The argument the neighbour said lasted for about 20 minutes after which the two went inside.

About half hour later she was found with the wound to her throat and died on her way to the hospital.

Police have since launched a man hunt for her husband Bunny Thompson who is considered the prime suspect.

Sources say the two are known in the area for having “serious” domestic problems.
