Plans to link Mabaruma and Port Kaituma via a road are afoot as Minister of Local Government Ganga Persaud disclosed that a team is presently cutting the channel to establish the link.
Construction is expected to commence in 2013 providing that the National Assembly approves the total sum.
The road link will significantly impact the cost of living in the surrounding communities.
