Winston Pierre, 28, of Mahogany Lane, Bridgetown, drowned yesterday afternoonwhile swiming at Shark Hole Beach, St Philip beach.
He got into difficulties around 2:30 p.m, and was pulled ashore by a man in a boat, at Ginger Bay Beach, a hour later.
Pierre’s girlfriend Shelaya Maynard told the media she, the deceased and her children when to the beach with the intention of having an enjoyable evening.
“My little boy asked me to come and go to the sea and he came with us a big wave and and carrying him along" Maynard said.
"He was crying for help, and I could not help because I have young twins. Two men tried to hold him but they could not because he just floated away", she added.
