West Coast Demerara : The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara (WCD), and which resulted in the death of 3-year-old Salima Shakeel, of Windsor Forest, WCD.
A Police report stated that Salima Shakeel and her mother Yashwantie Kallap, 29 years, were standing along the roadway when the driver of a motor cycle lost control and crashed into them. They received injuries and were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where Salima Shakeel later succumbed, while Yashwantie Kallap was treated and sent away.
The driver of the motor cycle fled the scene and is not yet arrested. The motor cycle is in the possession of the police.
