Mahaicony : The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Neeraj Michael c/d ‘Buckie’, 19 years, of Champagne, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, whose body was found in the Mahaicony River, at about 9:35 am today with suspected chop wounds to his head.
Investigations have revealed that Neeraj Michael was at a function at Hyde Park, Mahaicony River, yesterday when he had a misunderstanding with some persons. He later left among other persons in a boat during which it is suspected that he was chopped with a cutlass and thrown into the river.
A man has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
