Students march against crime

Port-of-Spain: Hudnreds of students from schools across the capital city this morning came together in a march against crime at the Queen's Park Savannah, just one day after the Education Minister Dr Tim Gopeesingh advised that all extra-cirricular activities can no longer be held during school hours.

The minister told a radio programme the Ministry was not aware of the march by organisers produced a letter from the Education Ministry granting approval for it to be held.

Cordinator of the crime walk Kelvin Nancoo admits the turnout was lower than expected this year because of some confusion as to whether the event had been sanctioned by the Ministry of Education.
