Port-of-Spain: Former United States Secretary of State Colin Powell will visit Trinidad and Tobago on Monday to participate in a National Youth Mentorship Programme at the National Academy for the Performing Arts, Port of Spain, hosted by the Ministry of National Security.
The official launch will feature addresses by Prime Minister the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Colin Powell and Mrs. Alma Powell, as well as the Minister of National Security, Senator The Honourable, Brigadier John Sandy.
The Former Secretary of State will give the feature address and officially launch the National Youth Mentorship Programme.
General Powell and Mrs. Alma Powell are both leaders of “America’s Promise Alliance”, a cross sector partnership of more than 400 organisations which engage in advocacy to improve the lives of young people.
The National Mentorship Programme has been implemented by the Ministry of National Security in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Science, Technology and Tertiary Education, People and Social Development and Sport and Youth Affairs
