East Coast Demerara : Investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 1:45 a.m. today, on the Railway Embankment at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara (ECD), and which resulted in the death of Shawn McPherson of Goedverwagting, ECD.
Initial investigations have revealed that Shawn McPherson was an occupant of a motor car that struck a horse, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle which collided with an oncoming motor vehicle.
Several other persons received injuries and are receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
