Small farming can contribute to the economy

Small farming on a large scale can help cut Barbados food import bill and make a greater contribution to the economy.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Michael King, told Trakker News he was in Brazil recently as was impressed by the role agriculture plays in the economy.

According to King, local crops account for 80 percent of the food consumed in Brazil. He said Barbados should adopt a similar model.
