Residents of St Thomas staged a peaceful protest this morning to have the B's Bottle Depot and Metal Dump removed from the parish.

For almost two hours, residents Melrose Village, Grand View.  Shop Hill, Belle Road, Arthur Seat, Bridgefield and Cane Garden, some in masks, quietly protested, up and down Reece Road where the operation is located.

The protesters, led by Member of Parliament for St Thomas, Cynthia Forde, sang gospel hymns and displayed placards which sent messages of frustration.

Forde  told the media she was pleased with the “wonderful” turnout from residents. She said it indicated they were conscious of their rights and were prepared to fiight fior them.
