Productivity being pushed into the background

Bridgetown.

General Secretary of the Barbados Workers' Union Sir Roy Trotman, has that productivity is being pushed into the background.

Speaking in the Senate yesterday, Sir Roy said only a few companies invest in training and retraining their employees and making them productive.

"Productivity has always been put forward by the trade union and we have Government who has established a Productivity Council but we have an employer class that was not greatly concerned with it", Sir Roy told the Upper House.

According to Sir Roy, productivity was something being devoutly wished for but not being practised.
