Potters Primary students rushed to Hospital after exposed to chemical

St. John’s, Antigua: Three students of the Potters Primary School are now recovering after being rushed to the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) following exposure to chemicals used to eradicate weeds, according to an Observer report.

The students complained of feeling unwell shortly after the Board of Education (BOE) workers sprayed the school yard with a chemical to eradicate weeds. The Principal, Lois Drew, told the Observer that the children started, “vomiting and crying out for pain in the chest”.

The boy and girl, who suffered asthma attacks, and the female who has sickle cell anaemia, have since been discharged, the Observer said.
