Police hunting Sunday morning drive by shooter

Georgetown : Persons in the fashion fraternity and youths who were encouraged in making something of themselves in the sporting disciple of basketball are still shock as to how 33 year old designer Trevor Rose was shot dead.

Rose a father of eight was popularly known for his talent and skill in fashion designing and a mentor to many Basketball players.

Rose was a former President of the Georgetown Basket Ball Association.

Rose met his death early Sunday morning when Trevor Nieunkirk was driving his motor car along the Eccles Access Road, East Bank Demerara Latoya Towler when another motor vehicle drove up alongside and the driver accosted Trevor Nieunkirk about how he was driving.

An argument ensued during which the driver of the other vehicle came out with a firearm and discharged a number of rounds at Nieunkirk and the other persons in his vehicle after which the perpetrator escaped.

Travis Rose was hit about his body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospial while Trevor Nieunkirk was shot and injured to his left shoulder and Towler struck to her buttock. Nieunkirk and Towler have been admitted to hospital.

A 9mm. pistol along with 19 matching rounds has been recovered at the scene as the investigations continue.
