Police establish human trafficking department

Bridgetown.

The Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF)  has set up a human trafficking department.

According to Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin, human trafficking it a $32 billion business and RBPF  had no intent of being left behind in  investigations.

Dottin told Trakker News that only one prosecution for human trafficking had been competed in Barbados since the act was amended last  February.

He said the force would also ensure new recruits would go through special training at seminars during their stints at the Regional Police Training Centre to improve their investigative skills in human trafficking.
