PM’s husband has blocked heart arteries

St Clair: The husband of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar underwent a coronoary angiogram procedure at the St Clair Medical Centre today, which has revealed that he has blockage in his heart's arteries.

Dr Gregory Bissessar went into the St Clair Medical Facility early this morning and left eight hours later.

Dr Bissessar was discharged shortly after 4p Friday and despite a rough day, appeared to be in good spirits.

Education Minister, Dr Tim Gopeesingh, who was asked to supervise the angiography told reporters the situation was not extremely serious but that a decision has to be made based on the evidence from the cardio vascular team.

Dr Gopeesingh did not reveal the extent of the blockage nor would he say what happens next. He says that matter is up to the prime minister and her husband.
