PM discharged from hospital

St Clair: Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar was discharged from the St Clair Medical Centre this morning after spending two nights for medical checks.

The prime minister was wheeled out of the centre just after 9am. Her physician Dr Dixon Machak told reporters that the prognosis is good.

The prime minister's second night in particular was due to an allergic reaction to a dye administered in the check-ups. The prime minister was calm as she noted that she the medical tests were long overdue, due to diabetes and hyper-tension

She was given what they deemed an executive medical check-up.

There have been suggestions that the prime minister should take a vacation and she says while it's not something that's common here, it's up for consideration.

The prime minister went immediately to her Phillipine home where she said she would watch movies and relax with family for the remainder of the day.
