PM admits crime a problem for investors

Washington: Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar has admitted in Washington that the country's rampant crime problem is not conducive to a healthy business environment that is attractive to investors.

Speaking at the Brookings Institute a short while ago, the prme minister urged her audience to do whatever they can to help stem the trade in illegal guns and ammunition.

She has expressed this country's support for a United Nations Arms Trade treaty to regulate the trade in conventional weapons including small arms and ammuniton.
