Soesdyke Linden Highway :The police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred at about 9:00 today at Hauraruni Public Road, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, and which resulted in the death of Floyd Washington, 53 years of 466 Kiskadee Drive, South Ruimveldt Park.
Investigations revealed that the driver of motor pickup GHH 7975 was proceeding along the Highway when the left side rear wheel blew out causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle which collided with the curb.
As a result Floyd Washington, Jason Boyce, 27 years of Annandale, ECD, and Gregory Sue, 40 years, of 74 Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown, who were in the tray of the vehicle, fell out and received injuries. They were taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where Floyd Washington was pronounced dead on arrival while the others were treated and sent away.
The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
