Parliamentary Opposition parties reduces NCN, GINA budget to $1

Guyana-ParliamentGeorgetown: A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) and the Alliance For Change (AFC) Thursday evening used their combined majority in the National Assembly  to reduce the budgets for Government Information Agency (GINA) and State owned National Communications Network (NCN) to GUY$1 each.

The budget for Government Information Agency has been reduced to $1 from $135 Million while NCN will also take away $1 from its budgeted amount of $81 Million.

 NCN revealed that in 2011 that it made over GUY$500 Million from advertisement and airing of television shows.
