Opposition’s youth arm calls for new elections

Georgetown:“Unless this government is prepared to adhere to the majority in parliament, do not approve the 2013 budget and let us go back to the polls,” these sentiments were shared by Chairman of the Youth and Student Movement (YSM) Christopher Jones at a rally at Stabroek square on Friday evening.

The YSM which is the youth arm of the Peoples National Congress Reform (PNCR) says they are also calling for the removal of Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Dr. Steve Surujbally and Chief Elections Officer, Gocool Boodhoo.

The youth arm further noted that they would also refuse to accept the 2013 National Budget, and would ultimately force the country into general election if certain demands are not fulfilled.
