Increase surveillance cameras for Christmas season-Crime Chief

Georgetown: As the Christmas season approaches, Crime Chief Seelall Persaud says the police force is looking to integrate greater use of surveillance cameras.

He even suggested the use of personal cell phones by citizens if they notice anything illegal.

The Christmas ‘Crime Strategy’ which will feature technology and high tech gadgetry is expected to link all Police Stations to assist in evidence, intelligence and analysis.

He also noted that there will be a zero tolerance approach to ‘squibs’ given the increasing difficulty in differentiating between fire crackers and gunshots.
