Essequibo : The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Selwyn Bess, 33 years, of Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, which occurred during last night at 14 Miles, Issano Landing.
Initial investigations have revealed that an argument developed among a group of men in a shop, during which shots were discharged. Selwyn Bess who was also in the shop was later found dead with a suspected gunshot injury to his chest.
The body is at the Bartica Hospital mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
A man is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
