No to devaluation

Bridgetown.

Governor of the Central Bank Dr Delisle Worrell,  says Barbadians do not want their dollar devalue and he has delivered the massage to the International Monetary Fund (IFM) and the intrernational rating agencies.

Worrell said devaluation is among the first prescription from many economists in rating agencies such as the IMF, Moody's and Standard & Poor.

"It is Barbadians who have rejected devaluation because they understand that since we don't produce what we consume, that strategy cannot work and it cannot work for any country like Barbados",says  Worrell.

He made the comments during his quarterly meeting with media, at the Central Bank yesterday.
