No confidence motion passed against town clerk by councillors

Georgetown: Acting town clerk Carol Sooba was faced with a no confidence motion Monday afternoon which was initiated by councilors of the Mayor and City Council (M&CC)

Councilor Monica Thomas who moved the motion noted that this was initiated because the entity wants to restore professionalism to the office of the town clerk. As a result councilors are calling on the Minister of Local Government to replace the town clerk with a competent individual.

Deputy Mayor Patricia Chase Green who also voted for the motion underscored Sooba’s appointment as acting town clerk was a difficult person to deal with.
