New security initiatives by the BHTA

Bridgetown.

The Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association (BHTA) has taken several new initiatives to improve the safety and security of their guests.

They have acquired the services of retired Inspector of the Royal Barbados Police Force Jeffrey Howell to train hotel staff in the basics safety and security for guests.

Howell will also audits hotels to ensure the properties are protected and have amenities and services which could provide hassle free vacation for visitors to the island during the winter season.

Executive Vice President of the BHTA Sue Springer told Trakker News:" Security truly is a serious issue and we have to play our ".

Springer said Howell's assignment would also include hotel workers at all levels being taught how to  prepare and complete proper reports for the police, should there be incidents on their property.
