More workers joining union

Bridgetown.

More Barbadians workers are showing interest in joining the Barbados Workers's Union (BWU) due to  the recent impasse between the union and telecommunication company LIME.

This is the view of  General Secretary of the B WU, Sir Roy Trotman, who told Trakker News that several workers had been showing renewed interest in joining the union over the past three weeks.

"Since this thing broke, we have had a revived interest in the union. Whenever there are occasions like this, people examine their own personal positions and there is renewed interest in what we are doing", says the veteran trade unionist.

The BWU Barbados' oldest trade union currently has a membership of over 25,000. A tally of new members will be conducted at its delegates meeting next month.
