The body of Guyanese Marisha Cheong, 24 washed up on a beach in Queens, New York on Sunday. The young woman had gone missing in December last following an argument with her boyfriend.
Reports reveal that he had told relatives that they had an argument and she was never seen or heard from since then, but relatives of the woman never bought that story, they believe he had something to do with her disappearance and New York Police thought the same thing too.
The boyfriend identified as L.J Balkarran had told police and New York media that he had a text argument with his girlfriend the same day she went missing but he had nothing to do with her disappearance.
The relative and other family members had put out missing person flyers and even came up with a reward after the woman went missing back in December.
The two shared an apartment together and the woman's relatives said she was breaking off the relationship with the man who is also believed to be Guyanese.
