Minister issued warning to delinquent NCH tenants

Bridgetown.

imagesMinister of Housing Denis Kellman has warned delinquent tenants of the National Housing Corporation (NHC) that the Government will be coming down hard on them.

Speaking to the press after a service celebrating the NHC's  40th anniversary at St Mary’s Anglican Church, Bridgetown, Kellman urged tenants to make an attempt to pay their rent or there would be serious consequences.

“Think about it, if tenants pay their rent for 20 years they will own the house. We are going to have to teach people the importance of paying rent: if is not just paying rent for the sake of paying rent, it is paying rent to get a house and for those who do not pay, what they are saying is they do not want the house,” Kellman said.
