Man held making homemade shotguns

Chaguanas: Chaguanas police have seized several shotguns from a Princes Town man whom they caught red-handed in the process of making the homemade weapons.

According to police reports, acting on a tip-off, officersof the Central Division under Inspector Wayne Lawrence went to Cemetary Street in Princes Town, where they raided a house and allegedly found a 38-year old man with homemade firearms, a trap-gun,and several parts enough for three other guns in his possession.

Gopaul  was taken into custody and police removed the weapons to the Chaguanas Police Station.

The man appeared before a Chaguanas magistrate this morning and the matter was transferred to the Princes Town Magistrates Court.

He remains in police custody and has told investigators he had been making guns for eight years to sell to hunters.
