Machel does triple with Road March win

Port-of-Spain: The Carnival winners have been named by the National Carnival Commission and this year's Road March title has gone to Machel Montano whose popular Pump Yuh Flag was played 233 times.

In second place for road march honours was Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez Miss Behave which was played 96 times, followed by Iwer's "No Pain" which was played 84 times.

The judging points were the Queens Park Savannah, Adam Smith Square, Picadilly Greens, Independence Square, Arima, San Fernando and Tobago.

Brian MacFarlane has made it six in a row with his 2012 presentation "Sanctification", which has again copped the band of the year title.

Topping the medium band category was the Roman Catholic band "The Word and Associates" with its presentation of "Exodus, the second book of the Bible."

In the small band category "Tribal Connection Cultural" won with its presentation of the Iroquois Nation, Rhapsody in Blue.
